Guest Blog: Scarlett & Mustard

This year, we’ve discovered Scarlett & Mustard. The only condiment provider you need. We will be working with them across lots of different things this Christmas and we look forward to all that it’s in store. In the meantime, have a read of their blog they’ve written for us!

Scarlett & Mustard was founded in 2012 by Sandy Ruddock and her late husband Julian. Based in Earl Soham, Suffolk, We make zingy dressings and marinades, delicious condiments, award winning curds, fresh tomato salsas and infused oils.

Our condiments are perfect for festive feasting and we have come up with some ways to use our products over the Christmas season.

The Cranberry & Orange jelly is an aromatic jelly with sweet and sour notes and a 2 star Great Taste Award winner. It is great served with your Christmas Turkey!

Our Rosemary Jelly is not only delicious and unusual, but it is also the perfect accompaniment to poultry. Once melted, you can even spoon it over crushed new potatoes.

Why not try using our Chilli Jam to seriously jazz up your pigs in blankets? Simply add a dollop of Chilli Jam to a roasting tin, ensure that all of your pigs in blankets are nicely coated in the jam and roast the sausages according to the cooking instructions.

Smoked salmon pinwheels are a great canape to have up your sleeve. They’re great all year round, and will be delicious with Morton’s Traditional Taste Smoked Salmon.

Smoked Salmon Pinwheels with Dill

Ingredients:
4 large tortilla wraps
300g mascarpone cheese The juice of half a lemon Large pinch of black pepper 350g smoked salmon Fragrant Dill Rapeseed Oil Dill (for garnish)

Method:
Take the mascarpone cheese and the lemon juice and mix them together in a bowl adding the black pepper.

Spread the mixture over the 4 large tortillas generously, then cover with a layer of smoked salmon and drizzle over some dill oil.

Roll the tortillas up, similar to a Swiss roll, then trim of the ends and discard.
Wrap the rolls up tightly in cling film and place in the fridge until you are ready to use. To serve, take a sharp knife and slice into 1-inch pieces.

And that’s how you make a tasty, delicious, and mouthwatering Samon Pinwheel, a delicious starter or snack to have throughout the day to enjoy the festivities.
